Indexing Arrays from Zero or One

Why does Matlab have to index arrays starting at one and not zero? Gevalt! Maybe I've been programming in C/C++ too long, but it's so much more convenient so much of the time to index starting at zero!

Our media POV doesn't even reach zero. I don't think it actually reaches left of 4.
